Product Details
Acrylate processing aids (ACR) are high-molecular-weight copolymers synthesized by emulsion polymerization using methyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate as the main raw materials. As core functional additives for PVC processing, they can significantly improve the plasticization uniformity, melt strength and surface quality of PVC, and are widely applied in processing technologies such as extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming and calendering.Mechanism of action: ACR melts prior to PVC resin, adheres to the surface of PVC particles, and increases friction and shear transfer efficiency within the system, thereby promoting rapid and uniform plasticization of PVC.
High-efficiency plasticizing modification for optimized melt processing performance
When used in PVC systems, it accelerates plasticization and melting of materials, enhances melt strength and extensibility, and improves overall melt homogeneity. It reduces processing temperature, raises equipment output rate, and effectively increases production capacity and processing efficiency. It delivers excellent plasticization-promoting performance for both rigid and flexible PVC products.
Superior molding performance to ensure product dimensional stability
It provides materials with good thermoforming capability, realizes precise wallthickness control, and minimizes molding defects. Compatible with all types of PVC molding processes, it reduces the difficulty of process adjustment and ensures stable and controllable production.
Enhance finished-product appearance quality and overall visual effect
It significantly improves the surface quality of end-use PVC products and eliminates surface blemishes. Meanwhile, it imparts favorable transparency to products, facilitating the production of finished articles with smooth surfaces and uniform texture.
ACR processing aids are classified into low, medium- and high-molecular-weight grades according to molecular weight. Different molecular weights correspond to distinct processing characteristics and product requirements
Low-molecular-weight ACR
Its primary advantage is promoting plasticization with negligible impact on transparency. Hence it is best suited for transparent products with strict optical-performance requirements, such as transparent films, transparent sheets and blow-molded containers.
Medium-molecular-weight ACR
It features the most balanced overall performance with both favorable plasticization-promoting effect and melt strength, offering high versatility. It is widely used in the production of general-purpose PVC products, including extruded and injection-molded items like pipes, fittings, profiles and special-shaped profiles.
High-molecular-weight ACR
It delivers higher melt strength and excellent tensile properties, and is particularly suitable for foaming processes. It can effectively improve cell structure and product rigidity, and is mainly applied to foamed products such as PVC foamed boards, foamed sheets and wood-plastic composites (WPC).
