DBM is a β-diketone compound, a new type of auxiliary heat stabilizer for PVC that can be compounded with calcium-zinc stabilizers. This product is white or light yellow crystalline powder. It is easily soluble in ether, chloroform, xylene and toluene, slightly soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in water, and soluble in hot concentrated aqueous sodium hydroxide solution.
