The 11th expanded meeting of the sixth session of the China Plastics Association Rigid PVC Foam Products Professional Committee was successfully held on October 19, 2023 in the Yihe Hall of Shandong Gaomi Blue Ocean International Hotel. Wang Dianjie, Chairman of the China Plastics Association, and Liu Xiaohui, Director of the China Plastics Association Office, attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the director, deputy director, directors, key member units, and other relevant industry experts of the special committee. The participating units included PVC foam product production enterprises, as well as more than 30 representatives from related raw material enterprises, mold and equipment enterprises, scientific research institutions, and other units. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Secretary General Huang Yong.

The meeting will first be submitted by Director Sun Feng to the attending representatives for review on the work report of the 2023 Special Committee. The report of the special committee is divided into "Industry Status", "Industry Main Activities", and "2024 Work Priorities". Regarding the issue of low production in middle-aged people in the report, representatives attending the meeting discussed and analyzed that the data did not include a large number of small and medium-sized production enterprises such as "carbon crystal boards" and "decorative panels" that have appeared in the past one or two years. Based on the actual sales volume of foam regulators, the production volume of rigid PVC foam products is about 1.5 million tons. Based on this, the data in the report has been adjusted accordingly.

Subsequently, Huang Yong explained the change of the 6th Council of the China Plastics Association Rigid PVC Foam Products Special Committee, announced the newly added members (directors) in the past three years, explained the selection method for "Outstanding Enterprises and Outstanding Contribution Enterprises in the Industry", and announced the list of award-winning enterprises.

Next, we also introduced the preparation for this year's annual meeting and the selected enterprises for hosting next year's annual meeting. We have announced the status of industry standard approval, release, and implementation, especially in response to the current chaos of PVC foam wall panels, and are preparing to approve industry standards such as outdoor and indoor wall panels.

Next, Director Sun Feng will summarize the current situation of the industry and propose specific response plans.

At the end of the meeting, Chairman Wang Dianjie summarized and affirmed the overall work of the special committee. At the same time, the industry proposed four requirements: 1. Building confidence and promoting the rapid development of the industry; 2. Continuously innovate to enhance industry competitiveness; 3. Strengthen standardization construction, carry out targeted revisions of national standards, industry standards, and group standards, and even create conditions to participate in the revision of ISO standards; 4. Improve quality and expand application areas.

In short, Chairman Wang Zhanjie requires the industry to do well, enhance competitiveness, improve quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs, in order to promote the healthy and stable development of the industry.
